Meet Benson Mmbaga. Benson is an ambitious 21-year-old man. He enjoys singing, acting, drama, dancing and football. He is also a teacher’s aid at Shiswa Primary School in Kakamega, Kenya.
Orphaned at 6 years old, Benson attended primary school while in foster care, and continued on through the educational system until he came to the point where his education was no longer free. He deeply desires to finish his studies in teaching (with an emphasis in chemistry). One thing stands in Benson’s way — it’s not his desire, it’s not his intelligence, it’s not his willingness.
$3000, college tuition, is the barrier to Benson’s ambition.
We intend to raise $1000 by August 24, 2009 and another $2000 to help him complete this two-year degree.
